The MG 15 is a German 7.92 mm machine gun developed as a hand manipulated gun for combat aircraft in the early 1930’s. By 1941, it was replaced in aircraft combat and found use for it with ground troops.

Developed from the MG 30, the MG 15 fires from the open bolt position at a rate of over 1,000 rounds per minute and can empty its double-drum magazine in 4.5 seconds. In late 1940, it was replaced by the Mauser 7.92 mm and was then modified for infantry use.
