The M92 is a carbine and modified hybrid of the AKMSU and AKS-74U. Manufactured by Serbian Zastava Arms, it was developed in 1992 for close combat use.

The M92 uses the Soviet 7.62x39mm round and is easier to handle while having a higher rate of fire. Gas-operated and air-cooled, the design is easily distinguished by the design of the pistol grip and longer handguard with three cooling vents allowing less overheating on full auto mode. With a short barrel, the M92 can easily be concealed and more portable making it a favorite with vehicle crews, pilots, and special forces.
